Women's HCA Honors for November Are Announced

Another month of NCAA women’s hockey is in the books and the Women’s Hockey Commissioners Association has recognized the most outstanding performances of November. The top two teams in the country have three honorees with senior defenseman Caroline Harvey of #1 Wisconsin repeating as Defender of the Month, while #2 Ohio State boasts two selections: Forward of the Month Joy Dunne and Rookie of the Month Hilda Svensson (also a repeat selection). Three netminders share Goalie of the Month honors, Grace Campbell of Boston College, Uma Corniea of Princeton and Kayla Czukoski of Saint Anselm
Women’s Forward of the Month: Joy Dunne, JR F, Ohio State
(O’Fallon, MO)
Dunne paced OSU’s offense in a perfect 7-0-0 month, going 9-10-19, and averaging 2.71 points per game. The highlight of the month: six points (4-2-6) in an 8-0 win at St. Thomas on November 1.

Women’s Goalies of the Month: Grace Campbell, SR G, Boston College
(Kensington, MD)
Campbell put up brilliant numbers for the Eagles, allowing just 1.49 goals per game, with a save percentage of .957. She went 5-2-1 in November.
Uma Corniea, JR G, Princeton (Edina, MN)
Led Princeton to a 5-1 mark, recording 1.49 GAA and a save percentage of .950.
Kayla Czukoski, FR G, Saint Anselm (Exton, PA)
Czukoski was 5-1 and a perfect 5-0 in NEWHA play. Her
numbers: 1.82, .962.
Women’s Defender of the Month: Caroline Harvey, SR F, Wisconsin
(Salem, NH)
The Badgers captain repeats as Defender of the Month. Harvey recorded a whopping 20 points in Wisconsin’s 6-0-1 month. Those points came on four goals and 16 assists. She led the NCAA in assists and points.

Women’s Rookie of the Month: Hilda Svensson, FR F, Ohio State
(Oskarshamn, Sweden)
Svensson repeats as the national Rookie of the Month as she bettered her 15-point production from September-October by one point. She finished November with 5-11-16. The Buckeyes went 7-0 on the month with all seven games against teams receiving votes in the national polls.
