Women’s HCA Honors for September-October Are Announced

The first monthly honorees of the Women’s Hockey Commissioners Association have been chosen. The WCHA, who boasts the top three teams in the country, have four players recognized with top honors today.
This year’s monthly selections have expanded to four honorees. They are now: Forward, Goaltender, Defender and Rookie of the Month. A separate release with Men’s Hockey Commissioners Association honorees is also being released today.
Women’s Co-Forward of the Month: Abbey Murphy, GR F, Minnesota
(Evergreen Park, IL)
Murphy averaged better than two PPG with a line of 15-9-24,
topping the NCAA in goals in this period. The Gophers went
10-1, with nine oppponents nationally ranked at the time.
Women’s Co-Forward of the Month: Kahlen Lamarche, JR F, Quinnipiac
(Sudbury, ON)
Lamarche went 14-8-22 for the Bobcats, the highlight being a
seven-goal weekend against nationally ranked Northeastern.
Women’s Goalie of the Month: Hannah Clark, SO G, Minnesota
(Ottawa, ON)
Clark went 8-1, punctuating the record with a 5-1 win at previously undefeated Wisconsin. Her numbers: .955 and 1.32. Eight of her nine opponents were nationally ranked.

The All-American blueliner is off to a great start for the nation’s top team: 5-12-17 and +14 in 11 games.

Women’s Co-Rookie of the Month: Sara Manness, FR F, Clarkson
(Winnipeg, MB)
Manness led all freshmen with 12 assists, going 3-12-15, and sporting a +11 +/- for the Golden Knights.
Women’s Co-Rookie of the Month: Hilda Svensson, FR F, Ohio State
(Oskarshamn, Sweden)
Another 15-point scorer, Svensson went 7-8-15 for the #2 ranked Buckeyes.
