Brink, Heise and Murphy Lead HCA February Honorees

Here are the men’s and women’s monthly honorees and runners-up for February as chosen by the Hockey Commissioners Association.
Men’s Player of the Month: Bobby Brink, JR Forward, Denver (Minnetonka, MN)
Brink put up strong numbers against a strong schedule in Febru- ary. Much of his 5-10-15 line came in six games against the likes of Minnesota Duluth, St. Cloud and Western Michigan, all highly ranked foes.

Women’s Co-Player of the Month: Taylor Heise, SR Forward, Minnesota (Lake City, MN)
Heise continued her torrid pace with 8-10-18 in eight games,
locking up the WCHA Regular Season scoring title. She aver-
aged 2.25 PPG with five multi-point games and a +16 plus/minus
rating.
Women’s Co-Player of the Month: Maureen Murphy, GR Forward, Northeastern (Buffalo, NY)
Murphy had a monster month for the #3 Huskies, recording 12- 8-20 in nine games. She had three hat tricks (including one in a playoff game) in a 7-1-1 month that saw Northeastern play six different Hockey East opponents.

(Wayland, MA) (12 GP, 7-12-19, 1.6 PPG)
Men’s Rookie of the Month: Rhett Pitlick, FR Forward, University of Minnesota (Plymouth, MN)
Pitlick was a key reason the Gophers went 8-0 in February to clinch the Big Ten title. He had a line of 5-5-10 in eight games, those five goals being his first of the season.

Women’s Rookie of the Month: Tyra Turner, FR Forward, Saint Anselm (Andover, MN)
Turner registered three two-goal games in February, ending the month with a line of 7-6-13 in seven games. She scored seven of her team’s 22 goals in the month (32%)

Men’s Goaltender of the Month: Dryden McKay, SR Goalie, Minnesota State University (Downers Grove, IL)
McKay was undefeated in February, as he was in December when he won GOM honors. This time, his numbers were 6-0, a 0.83 GAA, with a save percentage of .956. He did not allow more than a single goal in any game.

Women's Goaltender of the Month: Corinne Schroeder, GR, Goalie Quinnipiac University (Elk Creek, MB)
Schroeder put up great numbers against a schedule that included four games against Top 10 opponents. She went 6-1 with a GAA of 0.96 and a save per- centage of .965. She allowed one goal or fewer in six appearances and had two shutouts.
